Supporting mental health services for RBKC’s younger residents
CW+, the official charity of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, is delivering a pioneering project – ‘Best For You’ – transforming the way mental health services are provided to young people.
With the number of young people in the UK needing urgent mental health support at crisis point, CW+ recently launched an innovative and joined-up patient-centred model of care in child and adolescent mental health. Called ‘Best For You’, it makes finding and accessing required support easier and provides immediate help for those in crisis.
As part of the programme, a state-of-the-art 20-bed Young People’s Unit will be delivered at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, which will also house the country’s first dedicated 72-Hour Rapid Assessment Unit for young people in mental health crisis. An aligned Day Service Unit will open later this year and cater for walk-in appointments for young people and carers, and a Community Programme will work with partners and sites across RBKC. The scheme has also launched a new digital platform working in partnership with YouTube, and others that features a validated App Library, signposting to community resources and a wide array of engaging, age-relevant content.
Best For You is a collaboration between CW+ and three NHS organisations working across RBKC and the eight boroughs surrounding Chelsea and Westminster, plus multiple community and digital partners.
Cadogan is proud to support Best For You as the latest step in the strong relationship built with the NHS and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital over the past few years, including significant support during the pandemic and recovery, including immediate donation to CW+’s COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund, funding 32,000 medical gowns through The Fashion School and providing accommodation and car parking for NHS workers.
